About Phantom's Corner

Phantom's Corner was established in 1994 during my first deployment aboard the USS Fort Fisher, and it became a staple for many of us. Every night, without fail, I'd meet with my closest Marine buddies at the same passageway, same spot, same time. No orders, no roster, no formal plan — just Marines and Sailors coming together at the end of the day to talk, decompress, and look out for one another. Over time the crew began calling the spot by my callsign. Wherever I've deployed since, there's always been a Phantom's Corner.
